Video clip - Magnaflow 14220
For those of you who were asking for a sound/video clip of what the #14220 sounds like, here's a vid.

Personally, I like it much better than stock... doesn't drone very much at all. I do have the 6 spd so I can't say for an Auto.

The point of the video was not to get sideways, but rather make a clip of what the car sounded like. If I were intending to do that, I would have picked a lot with a little more space. Otherwise it would have been a video of me crashing into a light pole, which I'm sure would've been quite entertaining...
If you're going to post a video with the intent to display the sound of your exhaust, then don't spin around and screech your tires. By doing this you completely block the sound of the exhaust note.
To adequately present the muffler, post a clip when the car is turned on, taking off from a stop, and doing a drive by. This is typically the best format.

Then again, you are 17.

Yeah but your AWD car doesn't have as wide a contact patch on the back wheels as the XF, it's almost impossible to loose grip on the rear wheels during hard cornering.
Also the wider rear tire creates understeer, as can be seen in the video.

Yeah - a drive-by or in car probably would have been better. I'll try and get one before it gets too cold out.
Only other modifications are K+N's.
I imagine the muffler only added about 2-3 hp, but the perception of going faster with the sound definitely makes driving it more fun.
I was looking around and didn't see a sample or typical upgrade path... is there one on the list? And if not, what's the next typical modification after an exhaust and K+N's?

Why I love my Crossfire...
I can see how someone who purchased a Crossfire as a hotrod would be very disappointed. Although it has its roots with MOPAR, it was never intended to be the modern Hemi 'Cuda.
I chose my Crossfire because of its amazing design balance; i.e., style, handling, heritage, size, weight, comfort, exclusivity, cost and, yes, performance. The car will break 150 MPH, and will out accelerate all but the quickest state-of the-art rivals. I am old enough now that I no longer need to have the fastest car on the block, and drag racing has never held any allure with me.
When I became aware of the world of sports cars in the mid-sixties, Ferrari 250s, E-Types, DB-4s, and Lamborghini 400 GTs were the exotics we all lusted after. I couldn't afford one then, nor can I now. But I have discovered the Crossfire, a car which is an anomaly that will probably never happen again. This unique automobile shares an amazing number of characteristics with all those cars- all except cost of purchase and operation. Talk about a budget exotic!
Even the wheelbase is the traditional European Exotic car standard of 94.5 inches (2400mm). And don't forget, it was designed and built by one of the oldest and most respected of European car manufacturers! Only the most well-heeled enthusiast of the early 60's could afford a Mercedes 300 SL, the great-great grandfather of the Crossfire. The unlikely sequence of events that had to occur to result in the Crossfire will almost assuredly never, ever happen again! Let us enjoy this gift from the Car Gods while we can!!!
Now, I admit I would not (actually, could not) have paid the original MSRP of $35K. However, I thought that the $21K I spent for an immaculate 1-year old car with under 10k miles was an unbelievable bargain. It even has 2 years left on its warranty...
As far as I'm concerned, this car is the closest that I, a mere mortal, will ever get to fulfilling my "auto-erotic" fantasies. Drag racing turbo rice-burners and late-model Mustangs is totally irrelevant to my complete and total enjoyment of this remarkable Old-World Grand Tourisimo automobile!!!
Now, let us all bow our heads in a few moments of silent prayer...

Excellent positive comments.
And I enjoyed the sound clip. Actually acceleration and deceleration close by so you could hear it was very well done.
This may upset a few folks, BUT...
Quit bit*hin' about the CROSSFIRE...
If you don't like it, get rid of it and then buy something you do like.
Whatever YOU want. A YUGO maybe, it has more trunk space!!
A lot of us are very content with what we have and don't feel sorry for those that are not.
Actually, I'm on my second XF. My only second thoughts were: Do I really need a SRT6 this time??
