it's just a 640 ohm resistor plugged into the water temp sensor or air temp sensor connector. it's an old trick.

Hmm, the dial only goes up to 10.
I'd like to have one that goes all the way to 11!!!

It goes inline with the air intake sensor, basically it fools the ECU into thinking its colder outside then it really is, which is supposed to add fuel and timing.
They say it doesn't harm the car, and it might not unless you fool the ECU too much, and make it think its 20 degrees outside when its really 100. It might advance the timing too much which is not good IMO
I'm not sure how much of a change this actual module makes, but the concept has been done long ago on many cars...
I remember people doing to '98 - 2002 Dakota R/Ts back when I had one in 2000.

Derek: Like Dynamics and others said it fools the ECU into altering the fuelling by kidding the system that the air temperature is warmer or colder than it really is. Remember those tests I did a while back with the IAT and fuel pressure? If you remember I had to pull the 02 sensors to force the ECU to run open loop, otherwise the ECU just dragged the AF back again irrespective of the IAT reading. The device in the link is just a pot with a fancy ali **** on it.

Here's a section from the testing (sorry, not had chance to document evertyhing and post it on my site yet):

This is one of those mods that you shouldn't try to guess if it works. Its cheap enough to just get one! I got one from Europe a while back and I did not feel the difference. But who knows, should you feel 5 HP? Not likely.
