Default Magnecor Racing Wires

Hey fellas...before I ask I want to let you know that there are no topics that have discussed these that I was able to find. I was reading about this product and found it to be somewhat interesting... Has anyone had any experience with them? If so can you please share your input?

If it makes a difference I have the SRT...

I have Magencor wires on just about everything I own and love them: All my bikes, my now departed supercharged Prelude, my minivan, heck, I'd put them on my lawn mower if I could. They seem to make a difference, especially at WOT & high RPMs. It was very noticeable on my Prelude. Oh, I use the KV-85 racing wires.

If you order some, tell Stephen I said Hello. He custom made the very first set of Buell wires for me!

Terrific set of wires to eliminate EMI, not sure if that is an issue with this car, nor do I know if there is any performance gain.

I have not yet purchased a set for my SRT6, but I did put a set on my old '74 RoadRunner a few years back.

Between the Mangnacor Wires and a good set of plugs, it really seemed to make a noticeable difference to me.

No dynos were taken, but I have yet to find anyone that will say anything bad about Magnacor wires. They DO last.

I have them on mine...couldn't tell ya if it made a difference though, since I installed them while I was waiting for my ECU to come back from Renntech with the pulleys...I did all the mods at once.
They are nice wires though...I decided to get them when I was reading MB forums...someone there got a 3 mph gain in the 1/4 mile from them and the Denso plugs...so I figured what the hell and bought them.

I can't imagine they will improve on power of the XF, it already has two plugs and a coil for each cylinder, the system seems like it's been optimized to the max already.

I think Magnacor will be better than ANY factory plug wires. And any high end plugs will probably help too, although not a huge amount.

And, yes twelve plugs... verified that with my Chrysler dealer parts counter.

If you purchase plugs you will have to purchase a total of TWELVE (12) plugs.

Here are the part numbers from the service manual.

so what i am getting at here the denso iridium plugs and the magnecor wires although costly would be a worthy combination and a worthy addition to the SRT or any other car for that matter...because of the heat resistance, longevity, and the fact that it takes less to create the spark, but then it raises the question...what exactly would the heat resistance do?

I'm almost certain you will end up spending about $200 maybe $300 doing the ignition, if your looking for more power your best off putting that money toward an ECU upgrade, pulley set, sprint booster, or and exhaust. I'm sure any one of these options will give you more seat of the pants feel in power... you'll probably make like 2-3 hp upgrading the wires and plugs, hardly worth it seems.

This is the problem with over engineered cars like MBZ, there really isn't anything left to upgrade, but if you do get the wire and plugs it would be nice to see a dyno on them, just to prove me wrong.

Have a look at this site - some good stuff (I think it's a forum member)...

http://www.freewebs.com/pbsuperti/index.htm

He has plugs and leads etc. - he claims 10 hp.

I agree with dynamicS... out your money elsewhere.
However, if it's time to change plugs and leads, then why not upgrade.
Or... do the suspension, then you can go round corners using all the extra power you've gained!!!

Psuperti didn't even dyno his car. He's just pulling figures out of his a$$ and I wouldn't listen to him since he thinks bolting on an electric fan to the intake is making more hp in his car, lol what a joke.

Is the ECU worth the upgrade when there are other mods that could get better performance than 10 HP?

What size Magnacor wires did you install on your car ? Also, I've had Denso plugs on my car for the past year and was wondering if you knew of a "colder" plug...

I have not purchased the product yet, because I haven't really gotten to engine tunning yet, but If i to purchase racing wires right now it would prolly be the LET Wires, because they are made specifically for our engines.. check their site and contact erick for more information on this issue
