Default Reprogrammed ECU damages

Was wondering what types of damages can a bad reprogram of the ECU + pulley can do to my car?

Let's say i get it done and there seems to be no apparent problems for a week and then later on maybe some lights on the dash starts turning on (eg. abs, check engine, etc.).

Would bringing back the ECU to its original program correct the problems (given that they are directly related to the ecu programming) or am i looking at irreversible damages?

Also, the car will see some track time, will that cause any other problems or magnify it?

Thanks.

Way too many factors to consider - could be install, could be the reflash (if out of safety spec) nonetheless, having a local, reliable shop capable of supporting your needs/wants/support is your best option.

pulleys can shred the belt or push the psi to high for the engine components to handle thus causing severe problems to many different components... none of the typical pulleys sold by evosport renntech kleemann will likely do this but it is possible, also be aware that custom pulleys and hennesey pulleys can potential cause these problems if not built correctly.

as for the ecu... i know too little about it to really say much, but if the ecu is programmed to handle fuels of 93 octane and you fill it up with the 91 premium that can potentially cause a problem... other than that others will better be able to answer your question.

Oh No Hernan, this doesn't sound like a hypothetical question...

haha... no it's not... and it's not a hypothetical "i'm gonna get me some perf mods" either. i just blew an s_load of cash on poker. might as well use my $ before i blow it all and pay Larry Flint's electric bill for a month or two... =)

seriously though, i'd like to know what i'm getting into and try to minimize the risks as much as i can.

yes, i can shell out the extra bucks and get Renntech's stuff and call it a day. but the gambler in me...

i do hope your dyno tune with SI works out.

I don't think SI wants to do the dyno and reflash under my terms... PS: stay out of those casinos in Carson...
