Default engine

Is the engine in the crossfire identical to the Mercedes engine? Are they basically interchangeable? I wonder what a replacement would cost?

Yes they are identical M112 engine... You can buy a fully rebuilt long block from a MB factory authorized rebuilder for $7,500.

Are the internals any difference in the SRT6 version?

I wonder if the slk's 350 motor will fit between the rails of a crossfire?

You could probably make the motor fit, but making the electronics work is a whole other story!

yeah, but it could be done, just a lot of time tracing wires and splicing it all together. otherwise go with a stand alone ecu. It sure would sound cool to have a 350 crossfire!

I hardly think the 55amg motor would fit, I'm sure the understeer would make the car suck in the corners too.
