Default Running temperature

Had my new roadster (400 miles) out for a ride through a touristy town where traffic was congested. I was surprised to hear a beep alerting me to look at the dash where I found the temp gauge warning. Once I got it moving it did not go off again until a similar driving condition later in the week. Anyone with any comments or similar happenings??

Is this an '04 model, I'm not sure but you could require a reflash from the dealer on set point at which the cooling fan turns on. Check the TSB section on the forum.

it can't be a roadster if it is a '04.

Is your coolant level correct, and the correct mixture?
Just because the dash doesn't say it's low, doesn't mean it's not.
There was also a recall or TSB on something to do with the fan.

When my radiator fan went bad my radiator light would come on when the fan should be running at about a tick over halfway on the temp gauge and shut back off after it went down to where the fan would stop running. I never had a beep though.

There was a recall - Recall E-19 Radiator Cooling fan Module on some models, you can go to
http://www-5.chrysler.com/webselfser...m%28%27R%27%29 to see if your car is involved.

Hopefully yours is covered under the recall. Not all were. Mine went fubar and wasn't included in the recall and they wanted $400 at the dealership for a new fan motor. I said screw it and bought a whole new fan/shroud assembly from eBay for < $200 and did it myself. Only thing that sucked about the aftermarket part though is the plug on the fan wiring doesn't clip tight but it's connected.
