engine problem
New member, I have a 2005 roadster, 15k miles, 4 times now 10 minutes after I start driving the engine cuts out and will not start for 20 - 30 minutes. I turn the key to start position and nothing happens. It will start after 20 to 30 minutes. everything else seems to work but nothing in start position. Thank you
There is a thread here somewhere with the fuel control module causing a no start condition. Yours is the first I hear of one cutting out after it is running though.
I was one of the folks who had a "mystery no start problem." Do a search and you will find a couple of excellent threads on the topic. Mine problem escalated to the point where it the engine did cut out on me at stoplight and wouldn't start for about 30 minutes. It's was the fuel control relay (why it happens is covered in the thread) but the part costs about $250 and it can be swapped out in about 5 minutes. Problem will probably be gone.
Maybe. I had the crank position sensor go bad on mine. Check engine light came on but could still drive the car and had no problems. I think that part is pretty cheap and could be replaced at the same time. Very easy access to both parts and easy to fix.

Sorry, here's the symptoms: This has happened 4 times in the last 6 months; Starts and drives normal, after 10-15 mins. engines shuts down no matter what speed. Try to restart and NOTHING happens when key is turned all the way to the START position. All gauges and normal warning lights come on in the RUN position. Will crank and restart after waiting 20-30 minutes. Dealer is unsure what to do as there are no fault codes and since this is so sporadic they have yet to get the car to reproduce the shut down. I have tried to restart with both keys thus eliminating a keyfob being the cause. I thank you for any input.
