Oh dear God.

Deleted the muffler on my base coupe. Fabricated a Y pipe from the stock 2" tips to the 2.25" pipe.

I can hear the potential for a GREAT exhaust tone hiding in there. But the rasp and popping make it sound like a beat 6cyl Camaro under 3K and a riceboy Honda above 3K with a slight hint of Euro-exotic hiding behind all the raspy buzzing around 5k.

I'll have the 4" round 14" long Magnaflow muffler installed right after the converters by Thursday. That should remove the rasp and accentuates the throaty 6cyl growl. I'll keep you updated.

If you're looking for a sound clip, it sounds exactly like the black limited on youtube with the muffler cut off... but with even more buzzing. Nasty.

Funny thing, the car is still amazingly quiet during warm idle.

 

I saw that video , yikes!!! It sounded terrible , got to be some way to get a decent "growl" out of the v-6. Good luck!!

Stuck a single 4x14" round Magnaflow right after the Y pipe. MUCH better.

Still has a noticeable interior resonance around 2-3K, but the rasp and popping is gone. Not to mention that high RPMs sound much more tasteful.

Sounds just like a magnaflow catback but a tad louder. I'll grab a soundclip if I can remember how to work my DVD camcorder.
