New Exhaust!
I just had some exhaust work done this week. I got a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow muffler installed and ran some new piping. I believe it's 2 1/4". I kept the stock tips...being I thought those were the best looking tips for our cars! I'm going to try and record some video and sound over the weekend and get it posted asap!
I would be interested in what exhaust mods you made. I've heard about removing the resonator but what exactly did you do and did you do it yourself? Pictures before and after?
I like the part about keeping the original exhaust tips as I like the stock look as well.
Thanks, Dave Woolrage _/)***

So, why don't I like it? When I first got in and started it up, I thought, "Man, this sounds good." Then I pulled out and ran through the gears taking it to about 4500 before each shift and I thought, "Damn, this is loud, but it sounds fantastic." Then I settled in for the 15 mile drive back home, most of which was on the freeway. I was cruising between 55-70 mph most of the way home in 5th and 6th gear. If you're cruising at a steady speed, the exhaust is fairly quiet. If, however, you accelerate (even the slightest push on the accerlator) and you're anywhere between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm, the exhaust drone and resonance inside the car is EXTREME. In regular driving this is where I spend a lot of my time. The resonance was so bad at times that things were rattling inside the car. It's a tight car with only 11,000 miles on it. After I got home, I had lunch and then drove back to the exhaust shop. I'm not exaggerating when I say that my ears were ringing when I got there. They (exhaust shop) believe that the Magnaflow does not have as much resonance, so next weekend I'm having the Magnaflow installed. More $!!!! Maybe I'm getting too old, 38. The droning, though, just sounds like crap in the car, no matter how old you are. I hope to make some videos this week inside and outside the car, so that we can have a direct comparison once I have the magnaflow installed. AND if it does the same damned thing, I'm going back to stock!

that's my xfire on those vids with the Flowmaster Delta 40 series, i will tell you right now this system is the cheapest mod ever and it sounds amazing....total cost $200
I've got a magnaflow and it sounds great. everyone at the dragon thought it sounded good. As for the drone it does have some from 2-3k rpm. not real bad. I think any kind of loud exhaust will have drone to an extant.
I am going to go with the Flowmaster. The stock is just way to quiet. My wifes 07 V6 EX Accord sounds better than my stock XF. I don't want to spend a real lot of money either. It's Flowmaster for me. Whats this about the factory tips? They are not bolt on/off? Do they need to be cut off/ Welded on? If so that stinks, is it a big deal to have done? Please advise please. Thanks
