Default Thinking...

Anyone ever considered adding Porsche exhaust tips? Keep in mind this is not something I'm even 100% a fan of, but I'm just thinking aloud. It would be a slight quad-look, but not as obnoxious as four tips, and it would onle require two outlet tips.

I don't think they would match the lines of the car.
The opening for out tips mtaches the tips themselves.
I've looked at pics of othe Xfires with round tips and they just don't do it for me - it's obvious they're not stock, nothing else around them is round, round pegs in a square hole!!!

Look too wide... I doubt they would even fit

I'm having a single rectangle-ish shaped exhaust put on today, and I'll have some pics tonight. It's kind of like the Porsche ones.

Sounds cool - custom design, or an off-the-shelf item?

Off the shelf from some place called Larson industries. It's a muffler with that style tip, all stainless. I'll have some pics up tonight and post a link back in this thread.

Definitely post pics.

Another thing I was thinking of... I would LOVE to find a muffler with a tip like the Murcielago, just not quite as big or gaudy. Along the lines of the one Woody has on his Crossfire

Just got back from the shop a little bit ago. It's definitely louder and sounds great. Tip looks great too, but it could be a smidge larger.

No camera at work unfortunately, so y'all will have to wait til later tonight for a pic and tomorrow or the day after for a sound/video clip.

I'm please Total price was right at $200 for installation, the piping and the stainless muffler/tip combo.

I had them align it so it barely sticks out from the lower part of the bumper. I did this because the tip is slightly angled up, and I didn't want any heat hitting the paint. If you look straight down from the decklid, the tip does not stick out further from the bumper.

And yes video is coming, and I'll make a new thread when I get better pics tomorrow.

I promise I'll have better pictures tomorrow, but this is what I got tonight:

Simular to the boxster type. To be honest i would have liked to fill the space a bit more but the sound i now get is sooooo good i'm happy to leave it

DONT DO IT, Unless you want to look like an IS-F the single tip looks too small the only single tip I would go with, and it isnt even available, is this... HOpe this helps

I listened to the new exhaust on wcalvert's last night (those pics are at my house, with my xfire in front of his). it definately sounds pretty good, really good at idle. we did notice that there was a loss of noise around 4k RPMs and up. we were thinking it may have something to do with the harmonic frequencies of the tires and exhuast matching closely at the RPM level... but don't quote me. It has a surprisingly nice round sound at idle, for the money its a great pickup.

Actually if they were to be installed at 45% opposing angles they would look and compliment the present design VERY well.
Not to burst that bubble but have you seen the price of the Porsche tail pipe? Oh Crap!
Could be very neat though.

I'm with MAYAman.
Woody keeps the original lines, therefore matching and filling the hole.
