Default Improved Intake Tubes, SRT and N/A

We've been banging around a couple of ideas as of lately and have come up with some much better flowing intake tubes. This is perfect for people that want to keep their stock Airbox or SRT filter boxes.

The pics show it hooked up on an N/A but they are direct slip ins for SRT as well.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not much of a motorhead or knucklebump so that being said, how much improvement is this over stock in a n/a?

I have no idea what the track or dyno improvement would be on these as we have not tested them. You will most likely see little to no improvement on a dyno, but a noticable improvement on the track. Reason being is the design is optimized for air flow, so the faster you go the better they work.

From looking at the design I'd estimate power equal to a CAI for the N/A and on the SRT you'd be looking at 5-8 HP less then CAI. When added to the SL55 setup it's probably equal.

The tubes are OEM MB parts and the stock tube needs to shortened to fit.

Retail price is $78.00 for the pair I believe, plus the cost of new intake tubes if you do not want to modify your own. We get a discount on Chrysler and MB parts, so I have no problem and putting some sets together and selling at cost + paypal and shipping.

Figure around $100.00 shipped, but I'll double check tomorrow for the exact prices.

These tubes mixed with KN filters, and a gutted air box is the best flow you can get pre-MAF.

Nothing needs to be modified although my fingers are a little "modified" trying to get the size right...

You can upgrade the Y do SL55 standards or go the Code 3 intake mod, but really for a daily driven pulley, ecu tune, cooling mod SRT, the stock Y is not all that restrictive.

By all that restrictive I mean you will not see a 10+ HP gain from just a Y-pipe swap. Usually anything under 10HP you will not be able to feel, unless you track it, anyway. You can realistically get a stock appearing intake upgrade with better filters for a couple hundred dollars.

We produce a CAI and I fully stand behind the product, but since we started playing with the stock set up it hasn't been on the engine.

I'd love to do a CAI vs. Full modded stock intake on a SRT to see how the power curve differs. My guess is if the IATs are the same you will see more power under the curve for the stock set up and more peak power for the CAI. I've already tested this on the N/A and it holds true time and time again.

It would add additional flow to the SL55 intake, but acts on reducing restrictions in different parts then the SL55.

A good combo though.

Great brainstorm, TVT.

Almost as good as a CAI, and WAY more cost effective. Thanks.

Not as far as their work on the SL55 intake, but with a lot of things yes.
