Pulstar Plugs?
I have just spent the morning putting in New Pulsatr Plugs! Ihave 23 000 miles on my 05 Roadster and it was starting to miss a little so I checked the wires and then decided to replace the plugs! Unbelivable throtle response I really feel the difference, I hope milage improves too! They are a little costly but I truely feel a difference! Putting in the plugs was a major job for me but with the help of the forum I was able to do the job myself!
Thanks to Everyone all over the country for the help!
I still love this car, it is a real kick in the A'' to drive!
Everyone that can get 93 octane gas has it made, we have that great California petrol out here that is still 4.50+ a gallon!
Best regards from the San Francisco Bay Area!

I changed my plugs and wires at the weekend too - I went with TVTDesign - Magnecor & NGK Iridium plugs. Like you say, better throttle response.
They're a PITA to change unles you have microscopic hands - I even have the MB plug removing tool.

I had 25 years at Champion Spark Plug Co. and between my father, grandfather, and me, we had 92 collective years there. I was on the team there that developed the iridium 100,000 mile plug. Before that, I managed a Shell Service station where we did tune ups. I'm not suggesting that Champion Pugs are superior to others. What I recommended to customers at the Shell station is "put the brand and heat range of plug in that you took out." If I replace the plugs in my Crossfire I'll put in what I take out, but that won't happen, hopefully, for another 92,000 miles. The exeption to this is to go to a colder plug for racing. The copper core technology in todays plugs gives a much greater heat range by using a narrower design tip to avoid fouling while the copper dissipates the heat to avoid wear.
I'm not being critical of you ejavis1, I'm just trying to show a different point of view on the subject.
I hope the Pulstar's continue to work for you. I'm still open minded but sceptical.

What I always like when I read Chucks posts as that he takes a step back looks at a situation and can provide a different view all followed by a clear statement that he is not being critical or challenging.
Thanks Chuck for your posts.

we've dynoed the pulstar plugs vs. whatever cars came with stock
on a 350z i believed we picked up about 13hp..
i run NGK and NGK only... never had a problem with one

It wouldn't be an accurate test to test the engine with the used stock plugs that are already in the engine because they have been in there for a while. Putting any brand, new, fresh set of plugs in the engine would most likely show an increase in horse power not just Pulstar.
I guess I need to see a valid, honest test by a non biased engine lab using blind labeled sets of plugs.
Good hard emperical evidence for me. I still think that if a new plug technology came out everyone would jump on the bandwagon, auto manufacurers a really under a lot of pressure to increase the fleet average mpg and would more than welcome and jump on the Pulstar technology. They would either buy the plugs from Pulstar or buy the patents and farm out the manufaturing to an existing plug manufacturer. It would be my guess that Pulstar plugs are now produced by an existing plug manufacurer for Pulstar. As a Senior Sales Engineer I have personally seen this done.
It's no secret that Champion spark Plug produce many different brands in their plants including Mopar brand and Chrysler original equipment plugs. As a Senior Sales Engineer I got to tour many different kinds of manufacturing facilities and you would be surpised who produces what. We of course tested the plugs the competition produced to see if there was any clear advantage, all manufacterers do this. We had, and I presume still do have, a state of the art engine testing facility were I worked with many computer controlled engine dyno's and some whole vehicle dyno's.
When I was manageing a shell station right out of High School, I was thrying to sell my 1966 Chevy SS and a guy came in to look at the car and asked what kind of plugs I had in it. I answered that I had Champions in it and he said he owned a Sohio station and only used Atlas brand spark plugs, which he sold as a Sohio brand because they were a super plug. Because my father worked at Champion I knew that those Atlas plugs were rolling off the Champion line right down the street in Toledo Ohio. This illustrates the point that I always make in the Forum that many times an increase in performance or quality is a "percieved" thing. Maybe some one here on the forum can provide some data on plug performance backed by good hard emperical evidence. I would love to see it. Meanwhile I will put in the brand and heat range that comes out of my vehicles.
Whew! That was long winded, I hope somebody reads it.

those magical plugs are made to play on your emotions. when they dyno those to show gains they run the car on an old worn out set of plugs then install the fresh overpriced plugs and do the dyno.
Heck you may as well spend the $80 on a tornado insert for your intake while your at it lol.
