Angry Seat Heater ... not working !!! :(

Has anyone else had trouble with the seat heater not working? This is my 2nd Crossfire and I had the same problem with my first one (both cars - driver side heater). The first time, they replaced the element and that worked. This time, they have replaced the element but it's STILL not working.

The seat heater is a known issue on our cars?

Are there any other dealerships in your area that could correct the problem correctly?

Or just wear a few pair of pants...

when the element burns out it can damage the controller use the thread search for the correct module or the correction but yes there has been a lot of seat heater problems both my 04 coupe and 05 SRT6 did the same thing but mine were only elements that needed to be replaced

I don't think my driver side works either. I can't say that I feel any difference anytime after I hit the switch. My passengers feel the difference. Keep telling myself to get my thermometer out to measure the temp but I keep forgetting.
I do recall seeing a number of posts about this very subject.

Angry Re: Seat Heater ... not working !!!!! :(

Hi ... I never post to things like this so maybe I am not looking/posting my question to the right area. Is that what you meant by " use the thread search for the correct module or the correction" ? If so, how do I do that?!?!? HELP!!!???

The car is actually at the dealer right now. They have replaced the element (second day that they have had the car ...) The seat is back from the upholstery shop and in the car .... but the heater is STILL NOT WORKING after they replaced the element. Ideas anyone ?????

Other than the elements you have fuses, switches and the heated seat Control Module.
The seats also will not work if your electral system is providing less than 11 volts.

Since I only have one seat dead I suspect the elements.

at the top of the page where it say's search click on that then type in heated seat problems and hit search at the bottom you'll see several threads there but they may need to reset the module also

This may be slightly off topic, but the seats in my Crossfire only heat the back section of the seat and not the bottom where my butt is planted. Is that normal on these cars or should both sections heat up?

Typically, the following happens:

1. the bottom starts getting excessively hot.
2. the bottom stops working.
3. the car gets taken in for service on this issue.
4. 2 weeks later the dealer returns the car.
5. everything works great for 10 months.
6. see #1.

This forum cracks me up...
A guy asks a question and he gets shot down.
A woman asks a question and everybody is bending over backwards to help her.
The driver's bottom heating pad has just stopped working on my car. This is the second time the heating facility has failed - but I can't remember which section failed last time. When I get it repaired this time I'm going to make a note.
It seems to be one of two issues:
1. The seat bottom heating element is very delicate.
2. We are all fat (which I doubt as we'd never get in the car)

I'm glad this topic has come up again - it's made me get off my lazy *** and post the following two documents...

The complete SERVICE MANUAL is accessible at:
http://www.gleamingedge.com/mirrors/...e%20Manual.pdf
Be sure to give it time to fully download, there are more than 3000 pages. Also thanx to our astute Forum Members that have posted this.
For the Heated Seats, go to section 8G. Go to page 25 for electrical and page 36 for individual seat problems.
FYI: SAVE this to your computer and save $$$$. This manual covers the entire vehicle and the INDEX is fine tuned for individual problems.
All other systems, ie brakes, fuel, etc are listed by their own sections.
Can't really thank FANNY MAE for this, but hope it keeps your FREDDIE MAC buns warm

its not that were to fat but the ride itself !!! how many times going over a good bump in the road does your rump smack the bottom of the floor pan ???? I am only 170lbs and I hit the floor!!! overbumps especially the SRT6 not to mention the element itself is weak this is why I think there always going out and yes it always seems to be the bottom element that goes

You must be hitting those bumps pretty hard. I am 175 and in the SRT I dont 'bottom' out. But then I ALWAYS slow down for dips, bumps and train tracks, if I see them, to take it easy on the suspension.

I am not going to stress the bottom not working then. I am in FL so as long as the back heats up it is more than enough.
