Default Dirty exhaust tips

A newbie question. I've only had my '05 limited roadster since January and have noticed that after only a few miles of driving the inside of my exhaust tips are dirty. It's a black oily residue that wipes out easily with a dry rag. Is this normal or an indication of something serious? If it's normal, maybe I could paint the inside black to hide the dirt. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It is normal. Many of us use a metal polish call "Never Dull". Great stuff and it gives a great shine.

i just discovered this stuff - never dull: http://www.eagleone.com/pages/produc...=1006&cat=5006

a buddy that rides a bike saw my dirty tips and went into his garage. he brought back some of this stuff and i must say that was the easiest stuff to use to clean them. he said he got it at any auto parts place like adv. auto or autozone. he used it to clean his bike. highly recommended..
