Default Best (Cheapest) Place to get Air Filters

I did try the search function first but did not see anything about where to buy air filters. My stealer wants $80 to change 2 filters. I see all i need is a T-25 Torx to DIY. I see a lot about the K&N but i just want a decent regular filter. How much should they be? Is there a mail order place to get them at a better price?

I bought 2 Fram cellulose filters at Autozone for $21.00 each. The cabin filter is about $30.00 for the charcoal type. The K&N's run almost $40.00 each but if you do a search on this website you'll find most people don't think they make any more h.p. than stock style filters.

I suggest you get K&N air filters if you're going to keep the stock setup. Look for them online (ebay etc) or Autozone etc. I think they are under $40 each so they are cheaper than the stealership and a lot better than the cr@p they will be selling you. Funnily enough, this page is currently covered with K&N adverts!!!

I checked my filters on the weekend, had to clean out a fair few dead bugs and bits of leaves. I think the car could really do with some good quality air filters. I've used a K&N panel filter on a high(ish) (7000rpm) revving 4 cylinder car before and it seemed to give better response and possibly a tiny bit extra oomph, though not substantiated.

Has anyone got K&Ns fitted? Are they worth the extra few £s/$s on the Crossfire?

per paul's response up top, i went to autozone. they punched up my car and said $21 and the car needs 2. i figured $42 was cheaper than the stealer's price of $80 so i ordered 2. i picked them up yesterday. each box has 2 filters in it so i got 4 total filters for $42. not bad. pulled the engine cover and i can see the changeout will take about 10 minutes.

anyone need their airfilters changed for $75? that's a $5 savings over the dealer....

I bought mine at NAPA for $27.69 for the pair and they were MANN from Germany in the box.

ok folks, this has got to be the easiest thing to diy i've found to date. the dealer wanted $80 to replace both filters. i got a 2 pack from autozone for $22. it took me 10 minutes to change them and 5 of those minutes was looking for my t-25 torx driver. the fram filters i got are exactly the same as what was on there but i don't know if the old ones were original. the frams has a orange rubber bottom the original black. easy job for anyone that can use a screwdriver.

Last two times I bought the WIX SRT-6 Air filter (Wix P/N 46875) it was also a repackaged set of Mann filters. Each box has two filters in it, so for one price you get both filters.

Amazon sells them for $15.25 per box, including free shipping - Amazon.com: Wix 46875 Air Filter for the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6

RockAuto sells them for $13.22 per box, but you have to pay for shipping.

NOTE - The same filters that are used for the SRT-6 are also used on the C32 and SLK32, but they are not the same as the filters as used on non-supercharged Crossfires.

The WIX equivalent to the Napa 2822, Wix P/N 42822 (Wix P/n's are always similar to Napa Gold p/n's, just add a prefix digit) is strangely more expensive than the SRT-6 filters. I imagine that's the only thing that is cheaper for an SRT-6 than it is for a regular Crossfire!

WIX 42822 NA Crossfire Air Filters on Amazon.

Has anyone bought the Wix #42822 and if so did they turn out to be Mann filters? It shows that they are $18 on the O'Reilly website and I am thinking about ordering them so I can pick them up in the store.
