Thanks Valky for paving the way! I have" junk in the trunk" today. I finally got the Ansa installed. It sounds great, especially between 2-3k rpms. Nice and deep and no drone.

Ditto that! Thanks Beaner and Bluecoupe! It took a lot of courage to cut into your brand-new mufflers guys. The stock Ansa tips look really wide from the outside. No clue what you have inside until you start cutting and cross the point of no return. Thanks all for your help with this!

The first guy to do this definitely had some big kahooneees. THANK YOU!! I cut mine off a little over a week ago but left all the junk with the muffler shop. I like the this look even better than stock. The tip are just slightly wider apart and stick out a little further for a more agressive but OEM look that matches the opening in the bumper.

Thanks Phil and thanks to Beaner who has the skills to make it happen!
Actually it all began with Kaelino.
He was the first to hack up a perfectly good Ansa.

We all owe ya a BIG thanks Kaelino !!!

It looks like everyone with a Ansa has put the original OEM tips back on. I installed mine about 3 weeks ago.

I tried NO MUFFLER and it was toooooooooooooooo loud, so, I put a glass pack and welded on the old tips. Still too loud, so, I put another glasspack before the differential, extened the stiock tips about a inch and a half and have a good look and a great sound.

Stand on it and it barks and goes though!

Went today and got the Ansa installed. The work was top drawer he spent a fair amount of time understanding/planning then finessing everything into place. The tips don't stick out which was something that I had wanted. The sound is great. Now for the dual CIA, then winter storage just around the corner.

Where did you purchase the Ansa from, and how much is it running if you don't mind me asking?

It's a 1 year old thread now and they are no longer available.

Yeah, I knew it was a one year old thread, but since Rapp's just had his done on 9-7-2010 I was hoping he had found a source. I guess he had it laying around for a while before installing it.

Too bad they are no longer available. It is in my opinion the best muffer for a Crossfire. It even sounds better with a V8! The only issue with the stock tips is that on my car they stick out a little further which looks great, but if you are not careful you can burn your legs on them when you open the hatch. There are scares on the legs of a few guys at the car wash!

I bought the muffler from another forum member who hadn't install it, but had purchased it in the original group buy. It was in a box in the basement since last December. I hadn't found anyone to put it on that "blew wind up my skirt" if you know me you would appreciate the humor in that phrase. I'm the one "two timing it" with Kel much to my husband's surprise :

I had hardly tried to get it installed, I think I was none to happy to let someone come near the car with a saws-all and torch or dismember the Ansa either. But this fellow was amazingly good at what he does. He's not cheap either, it was a birthday present from Gary (my husband) and even Gary mentioned he was pleased to of paid the expensive price after seeing what a quality job the man did. We're going back out today to have him remove the cats on the Viper as well. We must like loud (er) cars
I'm thinking one set of the cats on the XF should be little worried about their life expectancy! We'll see how it sounds going to TOD.

And that is what I get for making an assumption. My apologies.

I bought one of the last available from a group buy and returned it due to the dents in the tip...longer story than needed and doesn't matter. I went with the Magnaflow and I'm pretty happy with it despite the drone you sometimes get.

I'm crushed have to go out to listen to the exhaust now...... just enough to liven up the drive some without making you regret it. That was just plain mean of me, sorry

Anyway not an issue in any way don't worry about it -Ann
