I saw Beaners Crossfire at a GTG this past Saturday. The pictures do not do justice to the quality, craftsmanship and appearance of the CAI. Once again, nice job Beaner.

Looks awesome !! Thanks for developing one for the NA guys !! Can the rubber hoses be gotten in different colors ? Any idea on a final cost yet ? Hopefully less than a Needswings ? Or just sell the pipes and we do the rest, as far as, getting filters and hose at Autozone or someplace. Might be quick and easy for you that way.

Yes the hose comes in a different color. I chose the color I have because it matches my interior but I will probably get black someday. Since I live in Canada, the cost for me to buy and ship filters compared to anyone in the US going to the local auto store and buying them is a huge difference. So it would not be a good choice for me to supply filters but for everything else I should be able to include in a package (pipe, elbows, clamps, 2 bolts for the maf sensor, brackets, the part number for the filter). The main concern I have would be the install. It is a little more complicated than just moveing 1 horn and moveing one end of the cooling line towards the rad a little to allow room for 1 filter. It is going to take me a little while to get the relocateing brackets and the best possiable procedure for install all sorted out.

excellent craftsmanship!

how about IATs? they are already high enough with these cars and all that metal would only increase temps negating any airflow gains...

that being said, still beautiful!

man, they're beautiful beaner. I'd be in on this too if you're going to mfg these. i think geting the hoses and the filters locally would be the best move for you, and for everybody. Nice job. Mark

I know that stainless will be a bit hotter than aluminum but no matter what material you make it out of it will get hot on our cars. I tried to keep the intake as far away from the motor as possiable just for that reason. If I was to put a coating on (paint or something), it would retain heat even more thats why I just polished it. I will get around to see just how hot it does get but I am not in a rush to do that right now, but some day!

I am in the process of finding someone that can weld aluminum because it seems like it is perfered over stainless.

It would be interesting to see some dyno curves. Sometimes too much air is a bad thing, you can lose torque but your hp goes up.
I know installing headers to replace more restrictive "stock" exhaust manifolds (thus moving more air) can cause a drop in torque. But too much air entering the intake can too?
Isn't that what a "supercharger" does?

Beaner, your CAI looks real nice.
Has anybody tried enlarging the holes in the radiator core support the intake hoses pass thru?

There is already more than enough air getting to the throttle body. no need to enlarge the hole.

OK......Well the only reason I asked is because it seems like everybody uses 3" diameter plumbing, but all the incoming air still has to squeeze thru those small holes in the core support. I figured the efficiency of any CAI comes down to how much CFM it flows, its flow characteristics, and the smallest passage way the air has to travel thru that's all.

After you remove the original inlet adapters in the core support you can fit a 3" tube on the right side and a 2 3/4" on the left side. You must also remove the hood cable cover to squeeze in the L/S tube. This is what I have on my car now (NW Dual CAI)

Thanks JM, I've never had the inlet adapters out, but I got to see Tom2112's last spring at Rickz's house. I just didn't remember it looking as though it was that big. Then again, I don't remember a lot of things.
