New cat-back system... kinda
Picked up a Magnaflow 12138 muffler from a forum member, very very reasonable, actually I couldn't pass up the deal. He also included the OEM pipe from the cat back past the OEM hanger. I knew it was going to be louder than I wanted, but what the heck, give it a try.
I have my entire factory system in tact and ready to go back on at anytime. Three bolts, a couple donuts and I am back to peace and quiet.
The shop had two Magnaflow 35136 SS tips that were the exact length needed. Angle cut, rolled edge, and 4". With the short area for the muffler and tight angle for the inlet pipe, you don't have much room for a large selection of tips.
The job turned out to be an absolutely perfect installation. It does seem a bit loud for now, but he said to run it a while and see if it tones down. If not, he can put a resinator in line to take some of the noise away.

I do think the OEM tips are some of the best looking ones out there. But to have the 4" round tips hanging out the back, gives it an interesting look as well.

I also just upgraded my exhaust with a Magnaflow 14379 two in two out. The car is now a true dual with all cats. I will eventually take the second cats off and replace with X-pipe and change out the tips for something different. The sound is alot louder, and I am hoping the raspy-ricer tones down a bit, but the deeper gurgle is great. The stock muffler is HUGE and am betting it is close to 35-40lbs, with the new one being under 10lbs. I need to take some pics.
