Default slow starting when cold... any ideas?

I have an 05 limited with 20,000 miles and the original battery. Recently the car is slow to start when it is cold. almost like it needs a shot of gas to start. then once it has been started from cold it will start instantly like normal. Any ideas?

I'd start by having the battery checked. When you say slow starting do you mean it cranks real slow like almost not turning over?

It might be time for a new battery. I'd have it checked first to see if it 's the problem.

Original battery ! time to change it, it is getting ready to go, even if it checks out good. Battery's have been a problem in our cars.

I had the battery and charge system checked, and all is well there. Any ideas!

Still cranking slow or just takes awhile to get fired up?

Bad fuel filter can cause it not to fire up promptly. Pressure is allowed to release fuel back into the tank instead of holding it in the fuel lines.

Try the grounding of the battery, a heavy load like the starter needs a good ground. Also the brushes in the starter may be needing attention, that would most likely occur on a higher mileage car. You would be amazed at the crap inside an old starter motor, all those worn and burnt brush remains do not travel too far.
