TVT vs NEEDSWING INTAKE vs K@N
I'm sure its been ask 100 times but i cant find the answers I'm looking for
1. Should i feel safe buying from both company's
2. Since needswing cost 200 bucks more is it worth it
3. what kinda gains at the moter should i expect from both
4. or should i just get a k@N drop in filter
By the way i saw the tvt 250 kit was 1,000 i click check out to see shipping and then it said the total was 1,4** seems kinda odd to me.

Ok if you want the best your gonna want one of the NeedsWings CAI. I have been told with the single CAI from NeedsWings you will gain a 10th of a second faster (correct me if I'm wrong). If you want something on the cheap side then the K&N filters will please you. I have neither of these yet but people claim to feel a difference with the K&N and thats the route I will most likely take with my Crossfire. I would stay clear of TVT products. Other members here can tell you why. I hope I helped you somewhat.
Here is my .02........
1. Should i feel safe buying from both company's. Yes.
2. Since needswing cost 200 bucks more is it worth it. That is up to you and what you want/need. It was worth it for me.
3. what kinda gains at the moter should i expect from both. Not positive, but the numbers I have seen are 25hp to 30hp, I think.
4. or should i just get a k@N drop in filter. Good filters, but I doubt that you would notice a difference just dropping them into your factory intake.

22 runs at the track
11 with the stock set up and 11 with the Needswings single CAI
Gains overall were 3/10ths of a second in the 1/4 mile.
HP gains you ask??....sorry never had mine on a dyno before the new CAI.
There are some dyno graphs in the link below posted by Rob after testing and fabrication.
Sounds great with acceleration and Rob @ Needswings is a guy who designs quality products and I have personally met him and bought other products from him for my Crossfire.
My vote...Needswings Cold Air Intake

Wow..... where have I seen those charts before.
As far as the NW TVT K&N choice....... NeedsWings all the way! Knocked just about 1/2 second off my 1/4 mile times!
I agree and also voted for Needswings. It looks better to me, since I'm not a huge chrome fan and its got a nice whistle. Also Rob is a great guy ans stands for quality and service
Also you can personalize the intake in many ways. For example I wrapped my black silicone part in blue and I think it looks so much better^^
Needswings all the way for the intake.

As a relative newbie, I have to ask, What is done about water intrusion into the K & N filter when it rains? Doesn't appear to the naked eye to be weather protected?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Even though I am in AZ, I never had any problems with water driving during the monsum season. Any if you live somewhere very wet, just get the wet-filter cover from Needswings
NEEDSWING- I bought the single CAI and noticed it really appreciated the change for the stock airbox. The water was never an issue with me, but K&N does sell a "sleeve" that will fit over the K&N filter you get. Rob is patient, but he is busy so don't expect split second responses. When I has some questions (I'm sure stupid by experience people's standards), he responded.
K&N - wouldn't be my choice as they don't have a personal touch to working/explaining things to you like Rob did, also you really don't know how much they really looked in to how theirs would work with the XF if they even did.
TVT - well, I can't speak to it. I know there were some issues with others on the forum and yet others felt pretty good; both of which should consider sending you PM's if they want to get personal. I do know the result of some sort of issue has been what seems to be a liquidation of their products or at least his car and other parts; but that could be a wrong perception.
Good luck

There have been 0 legit issues with our company. If someone has a factual problem with us or our products please come forward.
We are selling our Crossfire and the shop stock because we have moved into the Genesis Market. We will continue to offer parts for the Crossfire, but all the used parts that have been posted are just in the way at the shop.
Rob's intake is a piece of art though. I'm very impressed everytime we get a car with his products (we buy a lot through them). Our intake is great and will give you the same performance gain (dyno tested) but Rob's is a nicer piece and eliminates the MAF and MAF elbow bottle necks which is something to consider (as a plus).
OK so what are the dyno gains for tvt intake or the needswing whp and at the moter just trying to get an idea, ill also have a flow master 44 exhaust when its installed if that makes any difference

while theres no arguement the needswings dual cai is a top notch first rate product you have forgotten an inexpensiive alternative that produces almost as much power as the n/w dual cai and can be had for around 500$. thats the sl55/e55 dual cai setup. looks factory and with k&n filters delivers the goods!
BUMP for a worthwhile opportunity! Rob at Needswings is offering a group buy discount on their Cold Air Intake (CAI) and Dual Cold Air Intake (DCAI) packages. For purchasers of the CAI or DCAI, Rob has also generously agreed to extend the group buy discount to many of Needswings other products.
