I can imagine. These AMG Kompressor engines put out 50 whp stock per cylinder (or more) and you have 2 or 100 hp more than us sixers. The stuff dreams are made of.

The V6 is a 430 minus two cylinders. Don't forget the massive increase in torque which is what you feel. My n/a 500 enginge has more torque than a SRT and feels awsome! The sound of the V8 is also something dreams are made of.

 

This has be seriously considering this mod by Rudy.
Can this mod be done to a SLK32 for about the same price?

If so, 25k is a very reasonable price for the class of performance it puts your car into...

I wonder if Keyless Go can be installed with this mod?

 

keyless was one of the things that i turned down along with paddle shift, if you want it and you have the money,, Rudy and Paul can build it. as far as cost ,,
it all depends on the miles you request on your V8 as i had requested ,low miles because i will be racing it, the engine Paul found for me has less than 5000 miles on it. cost a lot, i know that.. my engine, tranny, wiring harness, and ecu cost ????. i could have gotten a higher mileage engine like 25 to 40000 miles for $????? up to ????,, jim

NICE!!!! joined this forum just to watch this topic... havent ready up totally on whats covered in this post.... but I have a 2005 crossfire coupe and am toying with the idea to do a v8 conversion in her after I do a widebody on her first. To gain some more rubber on the ground to accomadate the already dangerous car. I do a little codework as a hobby and have some German connections in Munchen and Austria... her dad was vp of bmw exports..... if anyone has some links (unlikely) to where i could peek into the programming code in developer mode for the fivestar platform that would be awesome......

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the compliment. As for toying with this, I wish the best of luck. The S500 engine could work in your car but you're going to be spending a ton of money and time trying to make it work. While this isn't a how-to thread, I will give you one vital piece of advice; if you have to ask what parts you'll need to make this work, you're not yet properly equipped to take on this conversion. I mean absolutely no disrespect when I say this, I only want to set the proper expectation and don't want you to set yourself up for failure. We're not the first to do these conversions but we are the only ones that can make the car start with the key. This is no small feat as Mercedes has been dead silent when it has come to offering any support so a lot of time and money was spent researching and prototyping the necessary means to properly perform these conversions. Good luck with your widebody kit and I look forward to seeing your car as you progress. These are a very unique car and I love it when people take it even further.

Rudy, I found a SLK 350 in northern IL.....put my name on it if they decide to sell her at the end of this year...that will be the future V-8 if it happens...so, don't tell me you can't convert this one...lol

I have done my share of v8 conversions in my youth.. the simple fact that i wouldnt need a welder or a cutting torch to so say, makes it that much more appealing.. of course AMG is going to be tight lipped about their programing code.. you see there has been a huge problem with the damn Czechs coming into Germany and stealing cars.. to attempt to contact MB for a sinlgle slice of code would be futile. also in order to legally go into the code in developer mode you need to have been granted a license from AMG personally. as this is not a simple open GLed platform we are talking about here. I think with the right money behind a person and a full staff of programmers behind him. I think that an agreement with amg could be arived at to offer an OEM product or kit for this conversion. lol but with petrol prices going through the roof I may just go with an electric motor.. LOL kidding.

Anyway, they won't let go of it right away, I won't or can't do anything for another year. You should see the other toys I found in that garage. It is 15 minutes from Valk's house too, so don't tell him...lol I will tell what else I found when I talk to you...
