Default Tranmission problem

I hope I'm writing in the right forum

I have a 2005 Chrysler crossfire limited automatic. Recently the transmission has been acting weird. The gear will not shift automatically, as if I'm driving manual. Even though its typetronic can't even switch to manual. So I took it to the shop and the guy basically said that the circuit board needs to be replaced. The problem is that they might not be able to get the circuit board. Something about track back not really sure. Also there is a possibility he said that it might not work. He said that on the phone. But when I got there this other dude said there is a 90% possibility. Anyway please see the attached photo. Obviously hes trying to rip me off, he said the whole circuit replace thing will cost around 1400. My question is will this problem be fixed if I get the new circuit board & will I be able to get it? I no nothing about cars you can tell. Please help.

How many miles do you have on the car? Have you had the transmission fluid level checked? Did he say which "circuit" needs to be checked?

It looks like it has a little of 37K miles on it..... the transmission SHOULD be like new.... go to a second shop and get another opinion...

I would check the fluid and if low, top it up, clear the codes and test it out... make sure you have all the codes written down first...

Find a good independent shop that know MB cars to take it to.....

I would have them check the wheel speed sensors first. You have ABS system and implausable ratio going on.
