OK, I got the 5 Mobil1 oil filters (part of the 5 sets of 5 qt 0W40 jugs/filter special) delivered today. The filter is definately built differently from the OEM one I originally changed and the Fram filters I have been using. The top and bottom are more tha 50% of a type of rubber that centers around the filter cap/shaft assembly. It will be interesting to know how these install, with those 4 (orange) "O" rings in the package. There again was a 5th "O" ring but those have been un-useable in the XF motor. OK, the filter is described as: "SPECIAL SYNTHETIC FIBER BLEND FILTER ELEMENT" but it looks kind of like the same material as the fram filter material just a little more like a cloth fiber. Anyway, got the oil and filters and at quite a nice price for the sets. Does any one else use the Mobil1 oil filter? If so, how satisfied are you with it and what did it look like at the next oil change?

 

Bump for anyone with experience with the Mobil1 filter for our XF's?

 

My advance auto allows me to upgrade to the Bosch or K and N for what ever the price difference is that way I don"t have to worry, the,last time they just gave it to me for the same cost.
