Default Airbag warning indicator lamp is on!

Hello

I have a 2005 Crossfire and the Airbag warning indicator lamp just came on, when I start the car, the warning indicator is supposed to stay on for 4 seconds and turn off, but during that 4 seconds, it blinks once and stays on while the car is running.

I have tried turning off/on the side passenger Airbag but no change.

I have 37K on the car and is still under extended warranty, before I take it in, I like to know what could be wrong? Does anyone know what one BLINK means, can I read the code if I buy a OBD II scanner? If so what kind of scanner should I get?

Please advise.

Could be any number of things, but likely the airbag module in the center console. Since you have the exteneded warranty, I wouldn't hesitate to have the dealer confirm.
