Default vacuum gauge on na

Does anybody know where I can tap a vaccum line? After doing the throttlebody upgrade I get some surges and want to keep an eye on it

before you screw with anything vacuum wise did you do the throttle body reset after you did the install? also how much torque did you put on the bolts that hold the TB in place?

Did you put the engine cover on correctly?
Did you disturb any vacuum lines, or fail to replace them properly?
Did you damage or fail to reconnect the MAF sensor?
Did you use a new O-ring?

Everything works perfect once in a blue the throttle stays at 1000, I turn the car off let it idle for a sec and it goes back to normal. Doesn't happen often
I just want to put a vac gauge

I think it need a throttle body reset or you tapped in the wrong vacuum line. Where exactly did you tap it can you post a pic of it?

Look for leaks, either a hose or the gasket between the TB and MAF. My opinion. Did you do Throttle RESET? if not do it>

I'm not sure on the vac line best tap point. I would drive the car for at least several days to make sure it is working correctly. I don't have my car around to look to ck, I 'm in OKLA and car is in Houston. Look on the forum and do a search for vacuum hookup or Vac tap point. There are drawings of hose connections in the service manuals. Someone else maybe able to answer you , I have not looked at those areas in over a year.

The best place to tap in for a vacuum reading is either of the small hoses running from the valve cover vent caps, or the one running over to the solenoid on the left fenderwell, or the large one going to the brake booster.

Hey sorry to bring up an old thread but how did the vacuum gauge work out? what vacuum line did you use? I'm planning on putting one in this week and have been trying to find a line to tap into!

Know this is an old thread but mentions a MAF O-ring (#3). Is this between the MAF and the elbow ? If so does anyone have a part number. MAF is in grp 25 of the parts book but has no mention of an O-ring and mine feels loose>

There is an O ring around the MAF / IAT sensor, but no part # as it comes with the replacement part.
You should however be able to find one in a parts house O ring assortment.

One on both the elbow and the MAF ? I have bought two real Bosch replacements and neither came with an O-ring. Explains a lot (like why I can choke the MAF inlet completely and it keep running.)
Wonder if HD has one, they have many. If both the elbow and the MAF, are they the same size ?

Post #3 refers to the O-ring that goes in the throttle body mounting face.

Just ordered one of these "2001-2004 Mercedes SLK320 Mass Air Flow Sensor O-Ring 35659FH 2002 2003". Should be here on Wed.(found on e-Bay, not on Amazon). Also ordered one of these "Seal Ring - Air Intake Housing to Engine Fits: Mercedes C240 CLK500 S500 SLK320". Not sure if goes on elbow or MAF intake but might as well...

ala: yes the MAF sensor. Wonder why is not in the parts book.
