SRT6 or Limited? By limp mode, you mean it goes to an idle? And no codes? Could be the throttle position sensor is bad, means you have no throttle response but the car idles fine.....

Oh hell, replace the crankshaft position sensor, bosch parts only...and see if this fixes your problem. I'm think the part # is 0 261 210 170. But double check with your auto parts store to be sure, or maybe someone else here can verify. It's been awhile sense I have done this....good luck

I added to my post. Was it a bosch part #? Some of the after market ones don't last long.... Rough idle is usually the CPS. Rarely is it the cam sensor, but they can go bad. I would try the CPS. It may have come loose. It is a difficult area to work in, get the plug connected properly and making sure the bolt is tight. Check that first, then I would replace it if it didn't come loose...

OK, then certainly look at the install, the connection or plug has to be tight and the bolt should be tight as well. The sensor has to be in the right position to get it's reading....let us know.

Well car started and ran fine this morning without doing anything.
So....I dont know...

There is also a rich fuel smell when it does this.

Also from what I have read true limp mode is rpm and shift limiting only. Not exactly whats going on here.

yes, that is true. You were not in limp mode. Still signs of the cps though. They usually give you some warning by a rough start, then a good idle and run fine. I would still look at connections.

If a new CPS didn't fix it and you believe it's still the problem, it's the connector not snapping all the way in place ..... I hope. Clean it, clip and unclip it a bunch of times until you know by feel when it's all the way latched. Mine started giving trouble with only 8 or 9 thousand miles on the odometer. A replacement didn't work, it was worse. Reinstalled the original one after lots of cleaning and clipping and un clipping the connector and no trouble since. I believe all these CPS problems are actually a less than perfect connection with the plug. Good luck.

I agree, there are no moving parts but a spare doesn't cost much, so my emergency kit will contain a spare and some contact cleaner from now on.
