Quick question - I live in the UK so it gets very wet, and my car lives outside. I'd love to do a dcai but would want the engine cover to stay in place, however that'll need to come off for this.

Anyone got a NA and done this and kept either the original engine cover or put another one on?

Cheers!

Mercedes V6 Engine Cover

or, find one at a breaker. It's a C320 engine cover.

The N/A Limiteds don't benefit too much with the DCAI like mine or Needswings.
The one ala_xfire showed above is mainly used with the SCAI from Needswings.
What I have on my '05 Limited is the cover off a C240/320 MB. This provides 50% more air flow and uses larger filters, and works great with the updated 74mm TB and 3" MAF. Straight plug & play!

Here's a pic of the size difference between OEM and C240/C320 cover filters......

Oh nice, thanks!

Made a plan (slightly off-topic to this thread) on what I'ma going to do to my xfire:

1) Custom exhaust
2) Sprint-booster
3) 320 engine cover with 74mm tb and 3'' MAF
4) remap!!

50% increased airflow though is effing insane.

Make sure you get the cover for the C240/C320 and NOT the SLK320. The SLK cover is the same size/flow as the OEM cover and is only good for "Bling" affect. Compare the size of the filters from the C240/320 with the OEM & SLK filter and you'll see the difference! The OEM front air tubes will fit straight into the MB cover. A few wraps of rubber tape will afford a tighter fit.

The one on the first post is for the SRT6. The M/B cover shown in post #43 above works great for the N/As.
