I used one of these the first time I did my DIY DCIA:

http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/SPT9479.htm

It needs to be cut down to fit and also needs a 1" high piece of 3" silicone to connect it to the TB.

I still have the modified Y pipe and a ready to fit 1" high blue 3" silicone piece if someone wants it - $15.00 plus shipping costs. I may still have two 45 degree blue 3" pieces as well to connect to the two 90 degree aluminum pieces that then connect to the inline air intakes. If I have them, I would include also.

Ya Ron, I had looked at the "T" pipe originally, but wanted a better flow after reading the complaints some of the "experts" had with the air flow colliding inside the "T". I also have one of those SFX "Y"s that needs cutting to fit and still would have been a tight fit against the back firewall. The SL55 "Y" setup works perfect since it was designed to fit our TB which is the exact same as the SL55 TB. You just push it onto the TB and the tabs clip right on for a nice, tight fit. Push the top and bottom tabs inward and it slides right off. Very nifty!

And I just couldn't see paying NW nearly $200 for a couple of sawed off 90 deg. pipe couplers. The brake ducts are computer designed for optimum air flow and are a little larger to catch more air. And @ a 1/4 the price!

My thoughts are that the inline filter setups will flow much better because of the directed straight flow of air at the front opening, whereas the curved front filter of the NW seems to breakup that flow up front and not be as direct into the intake opening.

Here is the 3" y pipe I am working on. It is aluminum. I haven't had time to finish it though.

Lookin good. I know of a few members who have made the "Y" pipe in this ebay intake work with a little modding...

I've got the Needswing elbow-maf housing.. for an N/A .. anyone got a source for a reasonable priced Y that gives hood clearance? Got the spectre Y and by the time you add to break over 90 degrees it looks like it's going to be too tall for hood clearance. I'm sure the rubber T would work.. but I'd rather have something that diverts the air to a down flow vrs the "collision" from a T

I am going to order the 5 inch filters and adapt the outlet back down to 3 inches and get my radiator support cut to a true 3 inches,I am just interested to see if any ramair effect can be had with this intake,or increase in boost.

Looks very cool, but since your ordering the SL55 Y pipe.... why not just go all the way....

I already had all the parts and was just looking for a good "Y" pipe. Plus the canisters have much better flow characteristics and sit further up toward the rad and away from the engine heat which I like better. But don't get me wrong, I do like that setup alot more than the OEM one. Nice touch with the color matched filter housings!

The area in front of the condenser is a high pressure area so you will get a "ram air" effect regardless of which direction the inlets are facing.

I did not see any change in boost on my car with different intakes.

This is pretty awesome. I have a single Needswings CAI on my car and am looking to upgrade to a dual setup at some point in the future.

That's a British-made grill from Zunsport. We had a group buy a while back. You can search Zunsport for more info here on the forum. They are also listed for sale on SRT-6.com on their market page. They come in Chromed silver and black, and are much thinner then the OEM grill which allows much more room for larger filters and such.

Here's some pics with the "Devil Horns" installed. Still need to do some trimming on the drivers side one to get a proper fit...

Just wondering have anyone dynoed the inline filters vs the filters out front,I think at a certain speed the inline filters are getting some type of ram air affect so they should in theory produce a little more power at speeds than the outboard filters.
