If you're lookin for a storebought kit, no. Other than Needswings engine mod upgrades, people have custimized their engine bays via creative ideas. Some forum members have made a few dress-up items and sold a few to others. But they do it as a hobby & love of Crossfire and not for the $.

Alrighty, thanks for the input. Ideally i'd love like a black anodized brushed aluminum oil cap, radiator cap & washer fluid resivoir. I might experiment around with my roomate's car's fluid caps to see if any of them fit to see if our car's thread pitch is the same to some other more popular cars. I am also considering getting a universal fender washer kit. I had an anodized gold titanium fender washer kit in my old car and it did wonders on dressing the engine bay up.

On that subject, maxcichon and I have replaced all the 10 MM bolts with dome top SS hex screws and SS washers.

A quick "Engine Bay Detailing Kit" on Google led me to this. I think I might order the kit later this evening. I've used Griots Garage products before and was pleased with their results.

you don't have to take them off. Get some stainless steel adhesive tape like I did.

The heater solenoids come off with out any mess at all. There is 5 screws that hold them on - just do this on a cold engine. I had mine carbon fiber hydro dipped.

MB part # A112 010 00 67 & A112 010 01 67. I think they where fitted to 2005 CLK 320, but you can back track by using the part numbers online at Mercedes.

Im hoping I can maintain Ala-Xfire's car to the level he kept it at. I bought it today from my mother. So I will be posting from time to time I'm sure and like an idiot I didn't pay attention when he was working on it.

Its really strange reading howto's or information on a car you just bought that are written by your late father.

Welcome to the forum.
Nice to see it is kept in the family, enjoy it as your father did.
He was highly respected here and a pleasure to know from what I have seen. I did not have that pleasure unfortunately.

Hello crowz,

I live up in Pinson, just North of Birmingham and I've owned a Crossfire Roadster a little over 2 years now. I never met your dad but he'd installed several soft-tops on Xfire's and had graciously agreed to let me be his assistant on the next top he installed. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm far from the most knowledgeable person here when it comes to the Xfire but I've done all the normal maintenance tasks on the car. If you need help with simple things like that I'd be glad to help you out as I have a garage and all the tools needed to do normal work on the car.

Thanks for the offer. I have all the tools and a full shop. Most of my diagnostic equipment is for bmw's but I do have the chrysler software in my scan tools but Im not sure if it will work with the crossfire that well being a mercedes offshoot and all.

I haven't had time to really get to know the car yet with everything thats going on right now.
