Added a little bling to the engine bay.
Added a little bling to the engine bay.
I used VHT wrinkle paint cured in the over, and then topped it off with Hemi Orange ceramic high temp paint.
I did the valve covers in black, but they aren't going on until Sunday.
If you think it sucks, say it. I don't mind. I'm looking for constructive and destructive criticism.

Was that a rattle can or a gun?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw his post! LOL
Grip, they look really good but get some matching bolts for those upper plenums... the combo of hex SHCS and torx BHCS is janky.

If three or four holes were drilled in the airbox out side, accurately, smaller than the letters were wide and countersunk if required. The NeedsWings logo could be welded from the inside, neat and no welds showing.

I have been doing wrinkle for 55 years (fifth grade on radio chassis boxes), the trick is several coats to build up and a source of heat. If the heat is not even, the texture changes the tightness of the wrinkle and youll see it. Coating the black allows you to do any color, and I agree that it is cool. Woody

Thanks for all the responses.
I hate the mismatched bolts, but they are a bit of a necessity for now. I recently received a set of E55 bolts that I intend to use as replacements for the non-oem bolts in the photos. As for the Ferrari comments (180) I'd be more than happy to put one in it's place at the 1/4. Any other type of racing against one and I'd be the one weeping for sure.
The color of the mani's is a close match to my calipers, so I thought it would work out okay. They aren't an exact match, but I'm okay with that. The engine bay was as boring and uneventful as a Fiero, so it's just nice to have something going on under the hood finally.
After I install the valve covers this weekend, I'll post up photos of the completed (for now) project.
Truth be told, if I'm not happy unless I'm modding the car.
By the way, I'm going to wait a few days before sanding down the lettering, as it's not easy to undo.
