Default Battery

After 11 years 09/17/03 and 8116 miles my battery finally gave up the fight on my 2004 coupe. Always been on a trickle charger when in the garage all these years. I was surprised it lasted this long in the weather we get in Omaha, NE.. Still have original wiper blades and never tried them yet. Went ahead and changed oil and air filters K&M. Should be set for a couple more years. Can't wait for Spring to go cruising.

When my battery died I stopped at Autozone and they would not change my battery. Said they couldn't do it, said they didn't know what the small square thing was on the side of the battery. It is pretty obvious it is a vent. They also said there were to many wires connected to the posts. Everything is stock but air cleaners on car. Then they asked if I was there 3 hours ago. I said no and they said that a car identical to mine was there earlier. Last Month my Sister said she saw my car at a store parking lot, but it wasn't me. I have only seen a red convertible in town so far. Mine is a graphite grey color.
Went to Advance auto parts and they put a new battery in the car in under 10 minutes. They were 14 bucks cheaper also, and were a lot more knowledgeable. They also took a lot of care not to hurt the paint.

No I got there autocraft platinum. It was the best one they had in stock and I was late getting somewhere because of the dead battery. It is rated 730 CCA, they tested it and the readout said it was measuring 925 CCA and 12.56 Volts. Hope it lasts a while, with only 8,100 miles I figured I would be good for a while on other parts.
Only other thing I noticed will need some attention in the near future is the head liner. It seams to be shrinking slowly over the years. Had to tuck it back in around trunk lid and driver door today. Probably have to replace it in a couple more years.

Yeah, me too. I have an Autozone and an AA auto parts about a block apart and a lot of people go to Autozone but not me. The guys at AA are car guys who know their ****, the people at Autozone might as well be selling trips to the moon.

I noticed the same thing, at Autozone they didnt know anything about the car and couldn't work on it. At Advance auto the guy was very knowledgeable and new quit a bit about crossfires and was very careful working on it. I will going a little farther for parts now but with more confidence.
