Valve cover leak
I own a 2008 limited conv. The crossfire has only 9,000 miles and has had an oil leak almost from day one. The Hayes Chrysler dealership has tried three times to fix the leak. They charged me almost $600.00 last visit for a new valve cover and the leak is back.
Is there anyone in the Gainesville, ga. Area that could help with this problem?

Hi Wallace !
If you use some Gunk and clean the engine, can you then see the source of the leak ?
Most likely in order :
1. The vent cover seals.
2. The oil cap or oil cap extender gaskets.
3. The rubber main valve cover gaskets.
4. A cracked valve cover.
Is this the Oyster Gold one ?

It is the Oyster gold. The car is in the dealership today. I pray they will help with this, since I have done business with them for years. They have tried before with no success. I keep spending money hoping for a positive result
Hayes in Georiga? That Hayes? I bought my first Crossfire from them - and NEVER would I take a Crossfire there. Nice people, but they have no Mercedes experience.
We hold free tech days in Oakwood every three months - where have you been?
ANYWAY, I fixed mine myself, first time. It was the breather covers - common issue. Took a few hours (it was fun!) and cost me maybe $65 in adhesive, valve cover gaskets and oil cap gaskets and a set of bolts (the bolts that hold the valve covers and breathers on are said to be one-time-use bolts). Got the stuff at Needswings.com
