Engine, Exhaust, Transmission and DifferentialPost questions here that have to do with the engine, cooling system, air intake, exhaust, Transmission and Differential
I have to swap a new motor into my 05 manual base and and I figure I might as well goto the 3.7 while I do. I've read all the threads I can find... taking off the mechanical fan is simple enough, but what is involved with the wiring harness? Any other gotchas?
Also, I I know eurocharged offers a tune for the 3.2, but how would I go about tuning the 3.7?
Have you read through both of these posts? https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...w-project.html https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...-call-c37.html Super interesting threads. One of them has a Whipple supercharger with the 3.7L V6 with numbers in the Kompressor V8 stratosphere. I’ve came close a few times on starting the parts acquiring for such a project. BUT recently and just by chance I have come a cross an M113K engine that’s going to be too good to pass up. Plus not having to open up the engine is going to be a huge plus IMO. GL with your endeavor keep us posted if you tackle such a project.

Some time back, a XFire Owner posted for sale a XFire with the 3.7L motor installed. She stated that a Mercedes-Benz Certified Mechanic did the swap. But I don't recall any specifics regarding steps or issues in doing the swap. I inquired about purchasing the car, but someone beat me to it.
I can't see going the exotic route with a V6, when 5.0 and 5.4 M113 options exist, and are as close to a bolt in as can be. The M113K is not quite so easy, but the naturally aspirated V8's just beg to be dropped into a Crossfire.
