Default Should I do solenoids when doing conductor plate?

Doing my conductor plate in a couple weeks... should solenoids also be replaced? (05 na , automatic roadster 137k) or is the fail rate low enough to not worry about them?

For general replacement, I wouldn't bother. If you are looking to upgrade performance, then move to the "blue top" solenoids. Cost is in the $360 range for the pair.

The stock "brown top" solenoids are fine for an NA Crossfire, the "blue top" type flow better but you'd also require the pressure control solenoid (PCS) maps in your TCU to be adjusted (ie you'd need a TCU tune). If you fit blue top solenoids and use your stock TCU then the shift pressures will be raised a heap and it will probably feel like the driveline will break as it changes down through the gears, especially 3 to 2 and 2 to 1. Leave the existing solenoids as they are.

That is the expert talking right there! Andrew has forgotten more about these things than most of us will ever know.
