Default Colder plugs in an NA

Years ago I picked up NGK BKR7EIX-ll 6988 plugs and Magnacore wires for my SRT6 from Rob, I think. I never got around to putting them in. My NA now has 162K kms and is not idling as smoothly as I'd like. I'm thinking I will put them in it. Has anyone used colder plugs in their NA? Any issues, concerns I should consider before busting my knuckles and putting them in. If I do, should I gap them at .39 or .44? Thanks

Are you trying to 'fix' your idling issue? Go ahead and install them, if it works your gold. If not, then figure out why the idle is rough and after the car is idling right reinstall them. Only then will you know if they work or not, right?

I have installed those exact plugs in my NA and used Magnecore 8.0 wires. They have about 90,000 miles on them and the engine runs really well for the 142,000 miles the car now has on it. I do have an enlarged throttle body, CIA and a euro tune See my signature. Seems to me you should be fine in using those plugs. I think they came already gaped at 39 and that is what I used if I remember correctly.

Good to know thanks! I'll give them a try, clean the MAF and the K&N's. That should sort things out
