So I wanted to find out if anyone had changed the plugs in my 05 Limited NA XFire and pulled one today. I found a Motorcraft Platimum AGSP 32FM with a normal gap. I am sure a plug is a plug and I will check it but has anyone ever heard of someone running this plug in a NA car?
I have been laughing all day long, i pulled them thinking the plugs had never been serviced only to find something that should be in my F-150 5.0! Once I get a few things sorta out I will attempt to change ALL those plugs. Last time I saw dual plugs was in a little 152 Cub plane we kept at the farm. Oh well, I all really falling for this girl and you can tell the car has been taken care of. I got it off a poor little rich girl for a little of nothing so that makes me happy. Thanks for the link to the plugs. I noticed the Belt was showing its age and I have a Gates in my shopping cart along with a few other items. This is going to be fun.
Good to know, I did see some oil on the drivers side that had soaked my AC unit and the thing with a pully above it so maybe doing the plugs will also help clean up this one leak. Thanks

No, I doubt that. The oil leaks are almost always from the "vent covers", the growth on each valve cover that serve as the PCV valve on these cars.
They are sealed to the main cover with RTV, there is a whole procedure to repairing that leak. You can find it in the below link.
( BTW, that pulley above the AC compressor is the power steering. )
I figured out that was the PS pump this morning and I am still trying to get years of oil wiped away. Thanks for the info on where to find the leaks. At this point I have bigger fish to fry, this water leak needs to be taken care of because it will simply ruin another 120.00 motor if I let it go. I have spent a week on this car and I should be building bikes! I am sure I will have a few questions getting this cowl off. I have downloaded 10+ "how To's" and stuck them in my new XFire folder but did not find one for the cowl removal and water leak fixed. I love pictures , do you know of one? I am sure it will make sense once i get in there but I try to NOT start tearing things apart in new to me cars unless I know exactly what i am doing. GG
1. remove the wipers. ( sometimes you can remove the 15mm nuts and just rock the arms up and down, some require a battery terminal puller )
mark the wiper position on the windshield before removing,
2. remove the cowl screws.
3. undo the O2 sensor wire clips attached to the bottom of the plastic cowl.
4. cut the wire tires.
leave the washer lines and wires connected and place out of the way.\you can now clean up the mess, there are 3 drain lines.
Its all good, my new motor is here and I have install a new resister, pulled the car into the garage so i can cool the cowl off. Just got done detailing each wheel . painted calibers. I am about the tackle this now. Wish me luck. SO as long as I clean them all out there is no need to build a shield or cover i had read somewhere? My goal is the get this all completed so we can go to dinner in the car. Thanks

If you pour water down the three centre groups of drainage holes you will find that the water exits two hoses beside one another, one normal looking hose and one with the end pinched together for some reason. With one drain at each end that makes four drains.
The two centre drains exit above the front end of the transmission and can easily be seen.
Leafs at top of photo nearly covering passenger side drain. Just 1" above this drain is the heater/AC air inlet.

Yes, mine were all clogged ! wipers came off with no issues. on the passengers side I found 2 drains, one on the outside close to the fender and another just on the other side of a metal piece. cleaned them all and now need to get it put back together. Someone had used silicone where the cowl meets the windshield trying to fix this issue. So now I know why my fan was fried, where is the amp for the stereo someone mentioned? I have lost the drivers side speaker is why i ask. It is a aftermarket unit (Sony) and I do have power for all 4 channels coming out of the radio going into the factory plug. That is as far as i got with that project.
I did find some sort of filter material in the AC box area that really was dry rotten it seemed. I left it alone. I see the spare plug in your photo, what does that go to?
I am going to button this up then install the new fan and resister . Install the kick plate and then turn the AIR on and go cruising on a Friday night with my girl. Thanks for the help.

The plug in my photo goes to the passenger side heated windshield nozzle.
Ok, I need help. New fan and resister but still nothing and its getting late. It does not help that i left my new HF light IN the cowl and buttoned it up! LoL I was able to get it out before turning anything on. I guess its time to find the AC FAN fuse,,,

I guess that makes sense . . i was about to give up but I have to see if that works, thanks. I pulled some info off the web and had looked for a fan fuse but must of missed it. I have several interior lights out along with the cig lighter but when I checked the fuses under the hood on the drivers side it was good. Glovebox light, the 2 in the hatch, ( i have a Graphite Limited coupe) seems odd that many lights are out in a car. Right now I simply want to get some AC blowing so I can give my 84 yo mother a ride, she loves the car. Thanks, I will run out and check it soon.
