R & R Differential in less than 2 hours
I sent this to onehundered80 hoping he will add it to the repair section so everyone can find it.
Differential remove and replace the easy way .
you really need a lift, once the car is up. remove the rear exhaust,, set it aside ,,.
disconnect the driveshaft from the differential three bolts ,no all 6 remove the bolts from the center bearing so it can move around,, push the drive up above the diff out of your way
get the tall hand jack, put it under the diff tie it on with belt, rope, you don't want it to fall .
remove the three bolts holding the diff , one going up ,in the front and two at the rear of the diff. move the diff forward so nothing is holding it but the axles.,, turn the diff to the right as you lower it, at the same time pop the left axle loose, as you move the diff forward and to the right remove the left axle,,, now turn the diff back straight , remove the right axle,, lower the diff to the floor. -------to reinstall, reverse what u did. -----tie new diff to your spin jack ----------and so on
