Nicky
In the spirit of being a positive, contributing member, I or many of the other members that have completed this simple fix (whether to paint them or correct a leak) would be happy to send you step by step instructions that would allow you to correct your “bubble” breather issue. I’ve now done it several times and found that it was one of the simplest projects you can do. I’m sure that with your apparent limited abilities you can do it too.

Make sure you reach out to Rob at NW for new fasteners.
Have a great day

SInce this is getting really really silly I am going to extend the olive branch. Despite all the insults, the name calling and the unconstructive comments, we share a passion for our cars. And we should just keep it there. If you feel insulted by me, I apologize. If you feel like I am not contributing to this forum them that is your opinion and that is fine with me. When I started in the Marines I worked on ejection seats and beyond. I like to think I can turn a wrench and you disagree, that's fine. I can obviously purchase a new breather cover and install as per Rob. But I tend to explore the forum (for better or worse) to get people who have been Crossfire owners for much longer than I have, to chime in.
Again, I am not out for blood...if you ever came to Florida I'd shake your hand, have a beer and laugh about it. But it's just not productive to hash silly indifferences, caused by online forums out on this forum.
Sooo if I hurt your feeling I apologize. You have done a really cool project by turning a NA Crossfire into an SRT6 and that's real dedication, true work and effort. I really commend that. There is a lot many of us can learn from you.
I have not done that and it is the reason why I often fall back on the expertise of the membership here.
I hope we can bury the hatched and actually contribute to each other or the forum as a whole. I still work for gov so I travel a lot...if you want to meet in the US, Canada I will be nearby sooner or later and we can actually shake hands and hopefully find common ground. If you don't want to meet in person I hope we can be constructive and helpful to each other and other members of the forum as that is what a car club is all about. But I mean it when I say you are always welcome to meet me in person over a beer. Have a nice Sunday!

Still waiting on the really easy fix LOL. All jokes aside, it's been amazing to me how people take themselves so seriously in our community. We should all help each other out. Knowledge level, mechanical skills, car experience etc doesn't mean one member is better than the other. Most of us have one thing in common - we love Crossfires. We are here to continue the conversation, increase the awareness and conserve our vehicles.

The bigotry and the "mine is better than your's" attitude I have seen on facebook pages but also on here is just uncalled for. A lot of new members get bashed for not using the search portal etc. I get it, but at the end of the day we should all welcome newbies, help where we can and do what I used to love this forum for - make owning a Crossfire an even more fun and exciting experience.

I painted mine with caliper paint ten years ago. No primer, just cleaned them up a bit and painted them with a brush.
Couple weeks ago I decide to do needed maintenance so valve covers came off. The paint had started to chip in places and small leak of oil as well. SO,
new spark plugs, coils and wires, oil change.
1. Bought a cheap sand blaster at Harbor Freight. Using fine glass media I blasted the old paint off.
2. Ground and sanded corrosion spots and the casting marks. You can use USC All-Metal if you want to fill each blemish and get it completely smooth before primer.
3. Simply paint from auto parts store; Rust-Oleum engine primer, color coat and clear ( 500 F degree )
4. I just got them primed Thursday. went over them with fine Scotch Brit pad to knock down the roughness of sand blasting. Roughness still there somewhat but not all that bad. Waiting to be certain completely dry before continuing with color coat. Have laid them in the sun on concrete patio to help the complete drying. I'll be color coating with Ford blue on Monday the 12th.
5. Have no idea how long this paint might survive! Time will tell, but if I do it again I'm going to use C series Cerakoat.
PS those little screws plug the thread holes when spray painting.

Thank you for the great step by step! I really appreciate it. And they look awesome by the way!

If anyone else had this issue and has any easy quick fixes without having to take them off (as they don't leak), I'm open to suggestions. Have not gotten to it yet as it's been raining a lot in FLorida in the afternoon and been travelling a lot but I will try the scotch brit pad on it lightly. Hoping it won't make it worse. Appreciate everyone's input. Even those who say they want to help, but unfortunately don't.
