Default Center support with bearing 2004 crossfire

2004 Crossfire...After reading many different posts. I'm pleased to share that I was able to buy the center support / bearing thru Amazon. Took car to a local mechanic and expressed that I watched several videos on this site of how it can be replaced without having to buy a new driveshaft, with only needing to detach and move heat shield forward to remove driveshaft.
They had it done in about an hour and a half at the cost of $135. The support w/bearing thru Amazon was $60. Total about $200.

Did you have them replace the flex discs while they were there?

did they realign the drive shaft as it has alignment notches for balance,,, ?? u may not feel any difference in
the way it rides or drives but it is vibrating . your new bearing it taking it up so you don't feel it .
your support that was in the car had a lot of miles on it, let us know how the new one last, ,
maybe thak your car back where u had the work done ask if they aligned the drive shaft
when they reinstalled it on one side there is single hump or notch ,,, and on the other
\half of the drive shaft there are 2(two) humps/noches ,, align the short shaft to split the 2 notches
I will tyu to post a picture later today .. jim

I did not know about the alignment notches. That’s a great piece of information and really great to know.
The images would be amazing.

Here are the notches dis re guard the white dots those were used when i had the u-joint replaced

this is on the short shaft

also you can see they did not have the tool to center the u joint so i told them to use thin washers to center and weld the washer not the u joint

this is the long half of the drive shaft. disregard the white paint ,that is what the shop used to put every thing back to stock configuration

god shot of the notches and the washer welded in
