Turbo Kit Price List

For the rest of the forum sorry you lost your click.

Our little Benz engines can handle 400 ft lbs of continuous torque and they have had zero failures on the SLKs according to Kleemans shop manager.
Just my 2 cents.

Here is a link to a thread that I started...I mentioned some price quotes from different shops around the country. Anywhere from $10,000 - $15,000 was mentioned:

a single turbo wouldn't be any more difficult the twins, either way you need custom manifolds. single turbos are almost always more powerful. k03's and k04's are pretty pinner, guessing that was on your s4. that's one of the hardest cars out there to run single turbo setups on, and they come with those crappy little turbos. never the less you can get into the 12's pretty easy. my roommate used to have one, gobs of torque.
Well I'm glad to see some interest in this topic. I go pick up my car on Wednesday with the new exhaust and a more detailed description of the turbo. I have some questions about the price, so I might have a more attainable number to be working with.
$17,000 is WAY overpriced for what you are getting. The only real issue is having manifold made. You could probably run a log style manifold (for a fraction of the price of an equal length) and still make 400+. The hard part would be fuel management. You need a standalone system that can index boost readings. Something like a greddy emanage w/ the boost read add on; or an AEM EMS... The other major concern would be the internals of the bottom end.

I figured that the majority of that price list was based off of creative pipe placement and not for the parts themselves. Do you know of any fuel management products that would be good for the crossfire? Would it be possible to just use the SRT-6 stuff, since I'm sure it's already compensated for boost?
i don't think the srt-6 ecu would work well for turbo mapping, seeing as spool is totally different to that of a S/C. The minimum you would need to use is a Greddy emanage. Plus a walbro pump and big injectors. Also a return line setup if there is not one stock (i haven't checked).
Regarding the turbo parts list...
What I do not see on the parts list is a transmission that can cope with the torque and HP?
I would assume you are going to run this thru a manual tranny?
Or and automatic?
If an automatic... then just get an SRT-6 and start there...
If a manual... be aware that the reason the SRT-6 is only available with an automatic is that
none of the MB manuals could cope with the rigors of the SRT-6 engine output for the long haul.
Something to think about...

I agree some man. tranny upgrades need to be considered if someone is in the SRT range HP wise but since no one has added any significant hp numbers to their base Crossfire's...who knows...
These pie in the sky posts are good way to shoot the breeze but unlike the "lets throw a few grand into a civic/neon to make it a screamer" mentality some have here...it's going to take a little more time, thought and $$ to make anything like this post come to life when dealing with the internals on the Crossfire...
