Default shift lever won't move

2005 Convertible, automatic - the shift lever is stuck in Nuetral/Drive. I think there is a lockout in the actual console mechanism, but am not sure how to get to it or what kind of lockout to look for. Any tips? Thanks

At the bottom of the shifter there is a hole about the size of a pencil. Pus a small screwdriver in the hole and push slowly.
