Default I did the ultimate mod for a crossfire (V8)

you guest it ,,My car is at Rudy;s right now , he and Paul are installing a supercharged sl55 V8 into my srt6. and with the added goodies, i will be ready to head to the track. for all the guys and gals that drove Paul's car at the dragon you should jump into this ,, as Rudy had said to me the 55 engines are getting scarce I am so glad i got to drive Paul's car as that made up my mind, you see i was going to get a used 2009 caddy ctsv for 50,000.00, now i saved a lot of money and can out run the caddy ,,on top of that i get to keep my crossfire. jim

Cool Re: I did the ultimate mod for a crossfire(V8)

Congrats I am sure that you will have a beast on your hands.

Recently on the Speed Channels "Battle of the Super Cars" they pitted a 2010 SL55 AMG against a 2010 Cadillac CTS V. After they put the cars through various tests (road course, 0 to 100 to 0 and 0 to 60), the CTS V won out overall. Since the SRT 6 is lighter than the CTS V there might be an edge, but it will not be easy.

Congrats Jim....... When do you expect to get her back home? Hopefully in time to get it to the track while the temps are still low.

I can't wait to see you car there when I go pick mine up! A sneak peek!

I hope they Paul and Rudy have more fun working on your car than they did mine.

See you sometime in 2011!

Hey Jim, you told me about this plan during the Sat. night session at the Dragon. Glad it is under way.I was one of the lucky few that got to drive Pauls car and I think about that experience all the time. When business comes back hopefully I will have one too. Great news and I can't wait to see what numbers you put down at the track.

I admit to wanting one of these hybrid Crossfire's. Congratulations on the decision and I can't wait for you to take it to the track and tell us about it.

I disagree. The ultimate mod for a Crossfire would be Megan Fox in the passenger seat.

The S55/crossie is fast and exhilarating, yes, but so is she.

I cannot afford either.

I can not wait to hear what one of these does at the track.

I would settle for a 60-130 mph number from a v-box! Has any of the supercharged V-8 guys logged a 60-130mph yet?

Congratulations Jim, when I saw your passionate post about who will be next, I was going to call you out, but I figured you had something in the works

I think that would be a tough number to get. I believe these cars will still smoke the tires when punched at 80mph. If it is insane fast enough to make you wish you had Depends on, then who cares about numbers.

How does the state emissions handle the v8 srt when there looking for a v6??? We get a obdII test for certification and that is a big issue if the car does not have a RATING ?? Thanks, Woody in VA.
