Default Servicing - Indepented garages.

Hi all

I will be needing to get my car Xfire serviced very soon. It is the major service needed (B?) and I have done 30,000 miles.

Chrysler want £550

Now seeing as I'm out of warrenty I will am thinking of going with http://www.nationwideautocentres.co.uk/. Here it would cost between £200 and £300. Now do I choose a Full Service or a Major service.

Should I worry about anything else.

Cheers
Mark

hey mark i am in the same boat as you, i need servicing to my car but i havnt gone to the dealership of anything yet to check prices. 500 pounds is a lot of money for servicing, when my car hit 30k miles back in the states it cost about $130 which is about 65 pounds..

Cool Re: Servicing - Indepented garages.

There still seems to be a range of prices being quoted for servicing at the main dealers, I was charged £260.00 for my B Service a couple of months ago at Listers Chrysler Dodge at Lincoln. They also offered the same service for £180.00 if I wanted to supply my own engine oil. You ought to quote this to your local dealers and get their reaction, as I was well happy with this. However, there's nothing to stop you having serviced anywhere so long as they do everything. I asked Chrysler about this and they said that in order to protect warranties you need to get in done by a reputable company who gives you an invoice showing their VAT number and who stamps your service book. Your consumer rights are not affected by this. However if your warranty has expired then it dosnt matter
