Kuwait Xfire
While here in Kuwait I saw the only Xfire in town, its white, it has the clear lenses, but what's interesting is that the headlights are adjustable, they go up and down with a special button, what's up with that ? Any comments ? Why don't we have that ?
I also found a nice DVD/LCD combo, it replaces the sunvisor, cool !

that's a euro (and apparently asian) option -- there's an adjustment button right next to the headlight switch -- i would guess they also have different headlight assemblies (with little motors in them) but i don't know for sure --

Only once, I was told by the local dealer that the going price is about $60,000 US because Chrysler did not want the vehicle in the Middle East, I took a few pics, but they wont up load.
Its the adjustable headlights what I want !

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I'm new to the forum. I wouldn't say there are a bunch of Xfires here in Dubai (I haven't seen any on the road), but when I started looking for mine, there were at least 3 convertibles and 4 or 5 coupes available at independent dealers. Many of them were 2-3 years old, with 0 miles on them.
I'm not sure what the rationale is for the higher prices in the Gulf region for Xfires . . . but I don't think it is because Chrysler doesn't want them here. They actually make Gulf spec Xfires (I was lucky to find one with U.S. specs in case I decide to bring it back to the U.S. with me). I haven't been to the Chrysler dealer here yet, but the dealer who sold me my 2004 coupe (300 miles on it) said that the price of a new one from the dealer was 145,000 dirhams or about $39,000.
The Gulf spec Xfires have Arabic script on the side view mirror and a very annoying dinging warning sound that starts when you hit 120 kilometers per hour (the speed limit). I'm not sure about the headlights. If I see a Gulf spec up close and personal, I'll let you know if they have that feature.

Those adjustable headlights are so you can adjust the aim of the beam in case you have a heavy load in the trunk and your nose points toward the sky. Other than cool factor, not much use in an XF, but if you've got an old Beemer and are pulling a trailer...

I'll see if I can get pictures of the arabic script on the side view mirror. Here are some pics in the meantime . . .
First my car, with the UAE license plates . . . then 2 of my students--the one wearing the head scarf owns the yellow convertible xfire. I was teaching the black haired student how to drive in the parking lot, then we switched cars and took a spin. Her yellow convertible is gulf spec.
