LED Tail/Stop Lights
This may or may not be a duplicate...
But at the Mopar Nationals we were discussing my 32 RED LED HALO REFRACTOR Tail/Stop lights.
Here are the specifics...
LIGHT BULBS:
RED 1157/2057 pair for $17.99
Load Resistor Kit for $9.99
SOURCE:
Velocity Distributing Inc.
P.O. Box 2224
Ferndale, WA 98248
S&H: $3.79 first item + $1.00 for each additional item.
These are towers that illuminate to the rear and radial. The entire light reflector is illuminated.
This ebay link shows (I guess the latest version) the type bulb, although this not where I got mine.
But you get the idea.

This is the Number Two thing we talked about at the Nats...
I have always wished the tail lights were solid red...
It was the XFC that belongs to acripsy1 that has smoked out headlights and taillights by using a special vinyl like window tint that had the solution!
We were engineering the idea and there was the answer in front of us!!!
BUT I WANTED IT IN RED!!
SSSSSSssssssoooooo...EBAY here I come...
Rvinyl.com had exactly what I was seeking (as well as all kinds of other "STUFF").
I made a pattern (since the vinyl IS NOT laser cut) and went to work.
Since I have done window tint before I had a good idea of what to do...
BUT...since the taillight is a compound curve, a heat gun is required. GO SLOW!! Can't be too hot and can't be too cold!!
That fine touch process I did NOT have in the history file in my bald data bank.
I have a few bubbles and a wrinkle or two but IT LOOKS AS SICK AS CAN BE!!!
Check it out below!!!
1 - Without Tint
2 - With Tint
3 - Half Way Point
4 - Compare Tail Light
5 - Compare Stop Light
6 - All Done
As soon as I get a chance I'll take some posed shots so we can see how well the tail lights blend with the paint!!

What would happen if I just replaced my standard bulbs with LED bulbs? Local parts store sell LED bulbs that replace standard ones. I never thought about installing load resistors...any ideas?
I have two questions...
1. Can't you buy the Euro tail lights which are all solid red, form the dealer?
2. And do you guys know if the European headlights are all glass, or are they also plastics headlamps??
Thank you!

^^^ Really? If so then Woody could possibly hook us up if he has time. I'd buy both the red tail lamps and glass headlamps from Europe!
Wooody where are you?

The tint allows the car to become more homogeneous taking on a more expensive look.
The stock lens has the clear section that causes the light and the trim to work as team (of sorts).
Final (my) understanding is the stock gives the car a twikle (so to speak) that works with the chrome (not the muted silver) trim while the tint gives the car an expensive look. I note that most high end cars do not put amber on the rear lights.
I like the red on red and with my yellow, red and yellow accent each other. i like both looks which is no help to me at all, crap.

The Crossfires lines are so clean and balanced, I would think a rear fog light would detract from the beautiful sleak sport car look.
Is there any pictures of this lens out there?
