hi guys, i'm in the UK and dealers here don't understand the question "can you get me illuminated door sills". can anyone give me the official part number or even offer to get them for me. i can send money via paypal and collect using my own ups account.

Does anyone know how much installation cost?
Should I get Chrysler to do it or is it something that I can have done elsewhere for cheaper?

 

I paid to have my installed, but I do know that if you do a search on here, there are some instructions listed. The diagram that comes with the sills is very difficult to understand and offers not written instructions. I paid about $100.00 to have them installed, I think..yea, it was a lot, but I didn't have a clue how to do it, and they look awesome!!!

 

Its a Chrysler/Mopar part, if installed by the dealer then you have an iron clad warranty on the installation. DIY if you are capable and you are sure of your expertise. I had mine also installed by the dealer, the Service Manager threw it in for free while doing warranty work on my Roadster Limited.

 

I checked the part in the UK using the part number you guys gave me and guess what...the price from a dealer here is over $600, boy we get ripped off in England, anyway thanks to e-bay this won't be a problem.

First off set up an acccount with Borderlinx http://www.borderlinx.com. This gives you a US shipping address with UK forwarding. Then go to http://www.moparsupercenter.com/82208670ab.html?cat=113 and order. you should also see a .pdf for the fitting instructions. Ship to the Borderlinx US address then onward ship to your UK address. It will cost you between $37 and $64 in onward shipping and taxes to the UK depending on weight. You can build up a consignment package (Borderlinx call it a 'pod') with various purchases from anywhere in the US before onward shipping. They keep you informed about everything.

I did this for the luggage cover. Chrysler UK wanted £399. Mopar was £104 plus about £35 in shipping and taxes. No brainer. From order to delivery in UK was 6 days.

Has anyone thought why the sills are blue and the dash and console lights are green? Does anyone care but me?

 

That always bugged me as well... perhaps I'm just OCD

 

I fixed that little problem myself... check my signature for how to change the color...

Yep, on the far side of the puddle but seem to spend most of my time in London due to work. Easy Jet for that but I do drive over occasionally. Haven't really had the chance to enjoy a long run in the SRT yet as I only bought the car in Nov 07...and I'm stil grinnin'
