Question windshield wipers

i've been having some problems with my right windshield wiper in my 2004 Xfire. at first it was catching, so i loosened the spring, just a bit, but then i had the even worse problem of having them not wipe my windows completely clear, leaving me out of commission in heavy rain. i took it in, and i was fine for 3 days, until it started catching again...HELP!!!

I recently had problems with my wipers stopping mid pass, as it turns out it was the switch on the column that was bad. may want to have them check it.

Dumb question, but I'll ask anyway...

Have you tried a new blade?

The driver's side blade is a tough decision. The OEM is formed
with a wing/air foil. If you replace OEM, it is really expensive.
I can't remember exact price but was $50+.. I went to
autozone and saved original..

If your getting new blades get Bosch! $30 for both at AutoZone!

I put the icons on and like them.
Could you describe catching better? Hard to diagnose stuff on the internet.

I put the Bosch Icons on my SRT6 and put the new similar blades from RainX on my wife's T-Bird. I like the Icons much better. Go for the Bosch.

I have the Trico Innovisions which work well but will probably switch to the Bosh when the time comes. Either way they wipe better than the OEM wipers.

One thing I found annoying about the OEM wiper on the driver's side is that when I used the washer I wound up getting more fluid on the wing/wiper than on the windshield!

I also have the Bosch Icons. I like they way they look, they perform well and seem to be worth the price.

Definitely get the Icons. They are well worth it. I think (think) that they were the 22" ones but don't take my word for it. They really clean the glass. I ended up getting them at Advance Auto Parts when they had a 25% off sale.

thanks for the tips everyone. oh, and i DID try to replace the wiper itself, thinking it was just worn out, to no avail. its good to know about the cheaper alternatives out there, because the only ones i could find were almost twice as expensive. i'm pretty sure they were rainbirds, too... i didn't think rainbird even produced them. the catching is kind of like when you hit the wipers on with not enough water on the windshield. i guess i'm just doing to have to take it in though.
