Default Chrome surround help

I installed the chrome surround kit and have developed a whistling wind noise at around 60 mph. I assume it's the chrome strips, since nothing else has changed before the development of this noise. Has anyone else had this problem? There are two thin strips of 3M adhesive that hold the strips on. I was wondering if there is a way that I can seal these better. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tennor

Tennor, you probably did not attach them properly. You shouldn't have to use glue, but I did. You can remove them using a blow dryer to heat the area, and a fishing line to separate the kit, then re-apply the kit using a silicone glue.

I didn't have to use any glue and have no whistling sound.

FP,

Did you also glue the other chrome add ons or just the surround? Those strips don't seem to be a real secure way to put them on.

Thanks,
Tennor

My wife did the installation for me so I can't attest to the correctness of the install. I just need to rectify the problem as best I can. If she continues to mess up I'll have to stop her from washing, polishing and waxing as punishment.

When I had my 300c, I had installed the chrome pillar pieces that also used the 3M adhesive strips. I took the advice of many others on the 300c forum and used silicone around the edges, prior to installing, to eliminate to whistling noise that many had experienced. I have been considering the chrome windshield surround pieces for my Crossfire and was thinking I would probably have to do the same thing.
