Default Silver Trim

Has anyone removed the silver windshield trim or door handles? I like the all black look better and may change mine to the stock black. Thanks.

i am trying to get my outer door handles off to paint them. having a bit of trouble removing the inner door panel. looks like there are 3 main torque screws that hold it on. (and various smaller clips and screws) one torque screw is behind the airbag equiped plastic cover dodad. the other apears to be under the inner door handle metal skin . am i an idiot here or am i missing some trick thats stairing me in the face? little help? guys?

Someone removed them to have them chromed and posted removal directions. I don't think you have to take the door panel off.

I saw a black limited on the lot today and the window surround was black. Looked very good.
Personally, I don't like the silver surround, but I don't hate it either.

I really need to learn to use photoshop. With a little work I could recolor the surround aero blue to see how it would look.

There are several places to get the chrome overlays for the windshield, do a search.

I offer a synthetic CF overlay in 4 colors, black, silver, red and blue. Cost is $175. You would have to send them to me. The finish is extremely durable and will last as long as the exterior paint.

Are you sure it was a limited...the reason I ask is because the base models don't have the brushed aluminum window surround.

No. I could have misremembered (is that a real word?) But it did look good.

It tells you how to in the service manual. It doesn't look to hard to do. Here's the link if you didn't know.
