Default New Lower Grill Modification

I've started to play around with the lower grill of the crossfire to offer a fresh new look to it.

I've started out with the smaller outside pieces and a large opening mesh.

If this is received positively I will fab something up for the middle lower grill and several different meshes.

If you are interested in the grill piece or bolt on pieces please PM me.

I purchased a similar product, but for the lower grill and not for the fog lights from an ebay user "Southhams", his product used zip ties to attach to the plastic grill... the quality was disappointing, but after putting it on the car I liked it a lot... he had a hefty price... I am sure what you are doing is not much different it is a good idea... and there will be buyers.

Zip ties is a little tacky... If you have pics of what you bought I loved to see them. I looked at the middle grill and a lot of the filled in boxes have connecting points behind them.

If I see this product has a demand I will do something for that one.

You are right zip ties are the suck very low quality...

Here are the pictures that he offered when he sold the product... its not perfectly seized either as the top part is not covered... I guess he did it this way to save material, but it is not visible so it can be argued that it does not matter that the top is not covered...

Are you planning on making full replacements? Or cover that attaches to the current plastic one?

if your product is a full replacement with a less spaced out mesh I will purchase it... otherwise I'll stick with to what I have... but at least others will have the probably better choice that I did not.

I've gotta go along with Sidez on this one...

I've talked about my experience with the Southhams lower grills on other threads but it bears repeating here. Just like Sidez, I was disappointed with them when I first opened the package. Definitely overpriced for the actual material at my bargain price of $50. And then I put them on...

A simple installation. Again like Sidez, due to being slightly undersized, I installed them so the bottom edge was tight leaving a small and unnoticeable gap at the top. The zip ties are also virtually unnoticeable.

As cheap as they seemed off the car, they look like a million bucks on the car. I absolutely love them.

Stallion, I like your fog light covers. But for me, they'd have to match my grills before I'd go that way.

I also have these lower grills and i agree, they look better on the car, love the way they look.

The grill that stallion8797 is making would work for a base Crossfire being they don't have fog lights.

I don't have a base Crossfire, so I'm more concerned about the lower grille than the fog light openings. If you develop a product to replace them (or cover, I guess) with an attractive mesh that won't rust or fade significantly over time, I would purchase it.

I will fab up a set in Diamond mesh, which is the material most 300c and Bentley grilles are made form.

I can have a grill that covers the stock plastic one or that replaces it. Naturally the one that replaces it would be harder.

I will keep everyone posted as progress is made...
